Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital (CSGH) stands as the only general hospital in the Calamian Group of Islands, delivering essential healthcare services to the residents of the four island municipalities of Culion, Coron, Busuanga, and Linapacan. Beyond these areas, CSGH also extends its services to other nearby municipalities in Northern Palawan, including El Nido, Taytay, Agutaya, and Cuyo.
As a general hospital, CSGH not only provides comprehensive medical care but also offers social, rehabilitation and custodial care to individuals affected by leprosy. The hospital has a total authorized bed capacity of 200, with 100 beds designated for General Care and another 100 for Custodial Care.



Currently licensed as a Level II hospital by the Regional Licensing and Enforcement Division (RLED), CSGH is equipped to provide a higher level of care to its wide-reaching population. The hospital offers a variety of departmental services, including Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology. Over time, CSGH has expanded its offerings to include multi-subspecialty services such as:
- Internal Medicine (with subspecialties in Pulmonology, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology and Gastroenterology)

Specialized units like the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) are also part of the hospital’s comprehensive offerings. CSGH is equipped with advanced facilities, including Level 3 Radiology, Level 3 Laboratory, and a fully operational Pharmacy.
CSGH has embraced modern technology to bridge gaps in healthcare access. One of its key initiatives is the implementation of Telemedicine, utilizing an Online Referral System (ORS) to improve the referral process within its catchment areas, such as BCCL and CAM. In addition, the hospital offers Online Consultation for higher-level care in partnership with apex Level 3 hospitals, including the National Children’s Hospital, Rizal Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, and Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.
On September 7, 2024, Dr. Maria Regina M. Calimag, DPCP, DPCCP, assumed the role of Officer-in-Charge, Medical Center Chief I of CSGH, following the retirement of Dr. Arturo C. Cunanan, Jr., on September 6, 2024.
